I’m not a Vermonter; I was born in Massachusetts. But I do live here now, on land that has been farmed off and on for at least a hundred years, land my dad bought more than fifty years ago. We farmed for a while, even though we're city people. Jersey cows. And I had sheep once. I consider myself a lapsed sheep farmer. I also teach. I have a modest collection of degrees, but I don’t teach anything I ever trained for in school. I do teach almost everything I ever did for a living, except typing & animal husbandry. I've been a mail carrier, a radio producer, a data analyst, and a digital media developer. I've also been an administrator but that work didn't suit me. I am a curious person, optimistic and too easily amused. I believe in kindness, good faith & snow days. I think people do the best they can. I love cats, NASA, jersey bed-sheets, the Boston Red Sox & Bob Dylan’s music. I make fine pot roast. I remember fondly practically all my old boy friends. And I may already be a winner in the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
